Dameon Halstead stands with the residents and children of Scarborough in striving to build a better and stronger education system. By being open to new ideas that include the unique and individual requirements of all members of the Scarborough community, Dameon will fight to represent and make sure our children get support and resources they need in order to succeed.
Dameon’s passion for education grew as he did. Throughout his years, he has been actively involved in the Scarborough and Ajax communities, providing educational opportunities for young people, volunteering at athletic events, and working with non-profit organizations that strengthen sporting and cultural programs. Dameon is part of several organizations that thrive to make positive change in our community. He has become immensely passionate about the issues and future of our educational system.
He believes in our education system and sees room for improvement; and believes that the Government authority of our school boards should realize that we are all on the same side and that our goal of bettering future generations is identical. There is a gap that needs to be filled, and Dameon Halstead has a plan.
Dameon’s plan for “Moving Scarborough Schools Forward” includes various improvements to our educational system that create and maintain a solid infrastructure that addresses the physical and social needs to ensure the health and safety of all our users. This includes ensuring that our parents have access to greater transparency of the lives of our children and ensuring the accountability of our education system in proactive learning and responsible leadership.
The “Moving Scarborough Schools Forward” is an interactive plan to be implemented in a way that addresses community concerns, the reallocate funds to where it is most needed, addressing our teachers’ concerns, and to ensure the involvement of staff and the community throughout the whole process.
With the ongoing support of our community, Dameon wants to share what he has learned over his years working with children in advancing the education system of today for a brighter and better tomorrow.
